    is this still correct?

My brother has just bought a 3GS with 3.0.1, so can i use Redsn0w to jailbreak that? I thought Apple had blocked everything from using 3.0.x and would only let 3.1 be used? or does redsnow bypass all that?

    Many thanks.

Just don't restore, run redsn0w, point to 3.0 Firmware file.

no problem. So i point to a 3.0 file, not a 3.0.1 yes? thanks again for the reply. But basically, i don't go anywhere near iTunes if i'm just using redsn0w to jailbreak a 3.0.1?
