    Default Am I Screwed?
So me and my gf just switched iPhone 3GS'(i originally got the white and her the black but she changed her mind ) but way before I made sure I had that Cydia file on my iPhone in case I needed to downgrade. I clicked the "yes, make my life easier" button on Cydia my gfs iPhone on saturday night and i just tried to restore to 3.0 today and it will not work. I noticed that on my original 3GS it took a few days for the file to be in green text in Cydia. Does the file take a few days to like register? If so, could i try and downgrade in a few days or am I stuck with 3.1 now?

I think you got the one for 3.1.

Unless you clicked that before upgrading, then yes youre screwed.
It's only impossible if you quit.

Um no, the whole point of it was to be able to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0 in case Apple, oh i dont know, stops signing firmwares or something.

Apple stopped signing the 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmwares.
You clicked the button too late...

He's now signing 3.1.. that's what you have.
    That is for the future.

It doesn't matter what firmware you were on.
It matters what firmware apple was currently signing.
    Apple hasn't been signing 3.0 or 3.0.1 since 9/9/08.

Well then why did my original 3GS work and not this one? Both were on 3.0.1 when i clicked yes and both are iPhone 3GS' 32GB.

I meant the one that *can* be downgraded/restored to 3.0/3.0.1

Sorry, like a day or so after 3.1 was released. I'd say like the 11th.

Then a while afterwards? I dont have the specific date, all i know is that I was able to downgrade my white iPhone 3GS and not my gfs black 3GS, both of which I had clicked the yes button on, and both of which were on 3.0.1 when I did it. The black 3GS (which i cant downgrade) was on 3.0.1 for 48 hours after i clicked yes and the white 3GS (which i already downgraded) had yes clicked maybe a week ago. Why can i not downgrade the black one?

you may have clicked yes, but that doesn't mean your info is on Saurik's server.

you may have missed the deadline when APPLE stopped signing the firmwares, which if im not mistaken, were used by Saurik to get your hashes and such from. So the button may have still been on Cydia, but it was non functioning.

Sign says open, but the door is locked.
