Default Itunes can't read iPhone 3GS fw 3.0.1
I just got a new 3GS with fw 3.0.1. I jailbreaking it, everything works fine. However, when I connect to iTunes (both 8.2 and 9.0), iTunes say that my iPhone content can't be read and suggest me to restore (of course I can't restore to 3.0 or 3.0.1 because I don't have the signatured file).
I tried on 2 PC and same result. I can use iFunbox to see everything from my 3GS, but not iTunes.
I guess I should connect my 3GS to iTunes the 1st time before jailbreaking it.

Is there anyway I can do to make iTunes see my 3GS?

    Thanks,

That was nice.. I wasn't being malicious at all.

"C***block" can also be used in a figurative manner to describe non-sexual interfering behavior.

To clarify the problem, here exactly what I did.
After jailbreaking, I copy the Address Book files (2 files) from my 3G phone. Then I overwrite the Address Book files on 3GS. After this, I connect to iTunes and iTunes say "Cannot read contents on iPhone "my_older_iPhone_name". I think iTunes see my new 3GS as my older 3G. It must has something to do with the contact phone book I just copied.
Is there a way to clear the phone ID, so when plug into iTunes it will see as a new device?

    THanks,

    Default Itunes and OS 3.01
I have essentially the same problem. I was using a 3GS Iphone with 3.01 and itunes 9.0 ... and had some problems with dropped calls. So I backed up all my data and restored the phone to 3.1.2, which wiped out all the jailbreak info. I took the phone to the apple store and had it replaced with a new 3GS, that has OS 3.01 on it. Then when I got home I ran Redsn0w .8 which jailbroke the phone. Now when I try to use itunes it says that I must upgrade to 3.1.2...so I am waiting for a jailbreak. BUT, in the meantime I do not have access to any of my songs or programs that I purchased from itunes...

Default Restoring itunes to previous version
Vetinh888, Here is what I did to fix the problem:
This is on a WINDOWS PC RUNNING VISTA ULTIMATE 64 BIT.
    1. Remove Itunes from Control Panel programs uninstall programs
    2. Remove Itunes Folder from Cprograms\Itunes
    3. Remove Itunes Library.ITL (Itunes Database) if not already removed
    4. Install Itunes 8.2.0.23 without Iphone being attached
    5. Restore Iphone after attaching without updating OS or itunes.
    6. Use article in iTunes: About the Add to Library, Import, and Convert functions to research backup location of itunes library of music/apps/movies.
    7. Point to backup location and add to itunes library per article.
This was successful without wiping out my jailbreak or my downloaded cydia apps. Hope this helps you out!
