Thread: Screwed up my carrier

    Default Screwed up my carrier
I recently Jailbroke my iPhone and used a Cydia app that lets me change the Carrier to something of my choice. I did that and all was well. I recently restored to factory settings, however the carrier is still the custom one I set, even though it's been restored and is no longer jailbroken. Any ideas how to fix this? I realize I will have to jailbreak again, just curious how I can fix it, or what the file paths are that hold the carrier info (I'm referring to the AT&T at the top next to the signal bars.) Thanks for any info!

You need to restore as a new phone. Those settings files are backed up with a standard iTunes backup.

Ah, thats why that is happening. So if I restore as a new phone...will I loose all my apps that I've already paid for etc...? What about contacts, and all that stuff? Is there a way with a jail broken phone that I can edit the file that holds the carrier info (using iPhone Browser or something like that?). I appreciate your response!

If you download make it mine in cydia you can leave the space blank and click carrier and it will default back to original.
