Default New to Jailbreaking please help
I just got a 3Gs iPhone and am wanting to jailbreak. I have read that purplera1n is easiest but have questions about activation. I am with ATT and phone is already activated. If I jailbreak, will I have to reactivate it to work on ATT? Also if there is problem with jailbreak and I have to run restore, Do I have to configure phone for ATT? Any help is appreciated...

To tether you will need to update your carrier settings / .ipcc file.
Search this forum and google for the easiest ways to do that.

You can tether a variety of ways... there are instructions here in the forum, how to do it even without jailbreaking (help.benm.at/help.php from Safari on your phone) or try one of the Cydia apps, like PDANet)

    Good luck!

Thanks for responses. I just jailbroke phone without issues. So now just play with it to get everything the way I want it. Sure will have to do this again when MMS option is available from ATT
