    Default Cydia Breaking Original iPhone
    Hi,

Maybe somebody can help me with this. I upgraded to 3.0 and unlocked and jailbroke with redsn0w. All seemed fine until I upgraded Cydia a few days ago. The iPhone would not restart so I restored and unlocked and jailbroke again. Cydia prompted me there was an update available so I upgraded it to that update. Same problem iPhone would not restart - stuck on the Apple logo.

    How do I fix this?

Restored from backup or set up as a new phone?

There's your problem. Never restore from a backup especially if the backup was made on a jailbroken device.

If you have OpenSSH on your iPhone you can SSH into your phone and go to /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS
Save sms.db on your computer and move it back after the restore
