Default jailbroke and installed only ssh, but cannot ssh to iphone
    hi all!

i jailbroke my iphone 3g w/ OS 3.0 using pwnagetool 3.0, with advanced settings. the only thing i had it install was OpenSSH, and i told it not to install anything else (like cydia or icy). but, i cannot ssh to the phone, i get "connection refused"

i have jailbroke the phone several times but also installed cydia and icy, and ssh worked then. so, are there some other packages that i should install with OpenSSH to get it working?

i seem to have battery issues (drains real quickly) when cydia is installed and it updates the mobile substrate, so that is the reason for not installing it. i really don't want to do anything except get ssh on to the phone, then i can manually install deb packages as needed......

You need Cydia or Icy for SSH to work. I suggest just keeping Icy available if you have a problem with Cydia, since Icy is a lighter (but limited) version of Cydia.

*ALTHOUGH* I really don't see Cydia draining any battery if you're not on it. Battery drainage is usually caused by your phone brightness being set too high, your SSH and WIFI constantly being on, your processes running in the background (such as Safari and iPod) which can be terminated through SBsettings... But to each his own.
