When you restore, it wipes EVERYTHING off of your phone and buts brand new firmware on it, with no music, contacts, nothing. When you jailbreak, it does internal things that alows it to install Cydia and you to install apps from cydia. After you restore and plug in your phone, don't click restore from backup. Click set up as new phone. After that, you can sync all of your music/apps/contacts back from iTunes.

    McFly,

Stop with the posts on "how do I steal apps, without making it look like I'm asking 'how do I steal apps?'" You won't get any support on the subject and you will likely get booted from the board.

    Buy the apps.

    Ciao!

Why would you say not to restore from backup? This kid is already so confused on the situation of just owning an iphone let alone jailbreaking.
