Thread: Endless loop in my iPhone 2G Unlocked + jailbroken

Question Endless loop in my iPhone 2G Unlocked + jailbroken
    Hi All,

My iPhone is stuck in endless loop when I downloaded Kate. My iPhone is 2G 8BG Unlocked + jailbroken and was being used for t-Mobile.

Here is what I did, I first downloaded a theme and a ringtone package using Icy and I did not respring or anything but continued to search new app. Then I found Kate and I licked it to try. It started downling and in the step when it says Done it just flicked my iPhone and started rebooting.

Now my iPhone is in endless loop and it flickers after 1-2 min but does not do any thing else.

What is my choices from here?

Can I restore and still use the phone with T-mobile?

I do not care for loosing app, contact or anything installed in phone as long as it is back to business

You will have to put your phone in DFU mode/restore/rejailbreak. Yes you will be able to use it still with T-Mo
Here's a link for what you will need and dfu mode instructions

    INSTRUCTIONS
    Step 1. Turn off iPhone

Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.

Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.

Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that it’s in restore mode.

    Alternative Method:

Step 1. Connect iPhone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.

Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.

Step 3. Wait until you hear another sound then release home button.
Good luck, you'll be fine. Once your done you can connect to iTunes and restore from back up and all your apps and contacts and most settings will return.

Okay, so I got the QuickPwn and it is not running on XP or Vista any operating system. In XP I am getting following message.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

iTunes must be 8.1 or lower.
It will work fine with XP, if you have a problem just start over.
Don't worry, this has been done millions of times. Be patient and follow the directions.

    Hi,

So I figured out this problem. Actually this QuickPwn application is developed using Microsoft .Net 2.0 framework. My machine did not have that so I had to download that from microsoft website.

Download details: .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)

Now QuickPwn is working, will update you soon.

Install the newest version of ".Net Framework"

From Here (I think this is the newest one):
Download details: .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1

Yeah, I have it in my desktop. Here is what I got after selecting that:

[The IPSW file you selected (iPhone1,1_2.2.1) does not match the frimware version of your device (_2.2.1). Please note that QuickPwn does not upgrade your firmware, it only jailbreaks whatever frimware you currently have on your device.]

One more thing to be noted, the firmware file give in Blkcardi's link was not an ipsw file, it was .zip file which I had renamed to ipsw.
    What do I do now?
