I have LOOPT and I saw the article this week on Glymer, but what if we actually DO want to broadcast our location constantly? Is there any software to do this?? And yes, I can imagine that it will have a significant battery drain.

Another question is how the GPS works. It seems as though it is not a true GPS chipset, but relies on having cell phone signal. Is this true?

I am a pilot, and if I am flying out of range of cell service, I can't seem to get a GPS fix...even with downloaded maps/charts. This would seem to make it useless for en-route aviation despite the applications available for it.

Thoughts on any of these points?
