Default Wallpaper problems after jailbreak...i need some help here plz
so when i first jailbroke my iphone 3g, i had a problem where the option of changing my wallpaper was never that...an option. i've dealt with it ever since but now i'm just tired of the same thing. i had some abstract wallpaper put in when i did the first jail break and didnt update the jailbreak till the recent 2.2 came out....and the problem is still there with 2.2.1.

even with that update, i am unable to change my wallpaper. i take a picture, try to use it as my wallpaper, and nothing...no change. even going into settings > wallpaper and choosing an image that came with the phone for the wallpaper option won't stay on after i confirm i DO want that image as a wallpaper.

anyone had this problem before? any idea how to fix it without having to reinstall a jailbreak or even have to wipe all my saved info (including a backup on the phone) to avoid having to loose all my text, contacts and other stuff i've had since day one of me owning the phone?

when doing the 2.2.1 jailbreak update, i noticed that before i went to the last backup i did, i was able to do the wallpaper change (of course with a clean, new iphone as it was recognized by the computer) but when i went back to the backup, the wallpaper problem was back!

if so, please give me a hint here...i'd really appreciate it

    thanks

yeah...i do have winterboard and i checked off the user wallpaper like you said on WB but it only made that dreaded wallpaper i've had and installed it to the background with the app icons (something i dont actually want...i've had it black the way the iphone came since jailbreaking) :-)

As was said, move "user wallpaper" to the top location on winterboard.
You could always ssh a wallpaper also. Many threads on this, search around

I got your PM. If you're on Windows use iPhonebrowser or Winscp. Diskaid works well too. I prefer iPhonebrowser for simple things like this.
