Default I'm unsure whether this is the correct spot for this, but...
My jailbroken iPod touch (2nd gen) can no longer connect to a server in any way shape or form; however, it will still connect to my router. The connection times out every time, no matter what I try to access - Cydia, Installer, a website, or a game that connects to the internet. My guess is this was caused by installer, as the last time I did connect to a server was to download some things from it. Also, I got a black screen of death shortly afterwords (which I fixed by holding down the two buttons for 10 seconds and releasing one or something; I'm pretty sure it's supposed to kill all the processes or something). This is pretty frustrating, though I could always reset my iPod and lose valuable data.

Also, when I say connect to anything, this also includes trying to connect to my iPod through winscp and puTTy.

Restore 2.2 and don't install installer - why on earth do you have that?

Within about 20 minutes of posting this, I was able to connect again. It is possible that somehow, roaming around random settings options, I fixed this (Fetch new data under settings appears to be the culprit, since it should be the only thing that actually did something).

EDIT: And I have Installer because it was installed when I jailbroke my iPod; I used the program QuickFreedom.

Just because you have the option to install installer doesn't mean you should!

Actual cause discovered: apparently keeping my IP set to static on my network is a big no-no. I probably set my IP to dynamic yesterday while going through the settings, and then back to static last night when I used winSCP; this explains why I was unable to use wifi starting today, as well.
