Default Getting error 1013 when trying to restore (HELP!)
ok...so i had to screw up big time at some point here.

i went ahead and tried to jailbreak my iphone 3G 2.2.1 (already jailbroken) into 3.0 beta 2. i clearly made a mistake in doing that since i dont have a developers licence with apple and so it basically gave me a "not registered" message when i finished updating.

i then tried restoring it back to 2.2.1 by doing a DFU mode and restore but it gives me a 1013 error message saying i can't restore it due to that error.

i am at a complete loss here and i need some help...bad!

...any would be greatly appreciated!!! thank you

Use this; I had the same problem and worked perfectly. Only problem is you will have an updated baseboard but everything else will work fine.

    1) open itunes
    2) get iphone in DFU mode
    3) select restore iphone (using the original 2.2.1 firmware, not the custom one)
    4) let iphone do the restart process until you get ERROR 1013
    5) close itunes
    6) open quickpwn. you will get a message saying to hold power and home for 15 seconds. do it exactly like that hold the power and home for 15 secs.
    7) turn on iphone by holding power button for 2 secs
    8) open itunes and BINGO iphone is recognize and activated

so far so good!!!! i am currently restoring it back with the last back up i did before this mess started.

last 2 questions i have here...

will i be able to process a normal jailbreak (to 2.2.1) after this? or will this updated baseboard be a problem to try to do that?

Your baseband has been updated..There is nothing you can do as of now to return to 2.28

Now if you want to go back to 3.0 you need a program called iutilities to trick itunes into thinking your on 2.1 or 2.2

so its because of the updated baseband the reason why i cant jailbreak 2.2.1 right?

mr.sparky; I didn't need that program. I restored to 2.2.1 and then once I was registered with the dev team I just upgraded and worked. Simple.

I am not 100% sure..I think that's why itunes is giving you the error wrong BB for the firmware.. But its not really a big deal.It will still work you'll just get the error.
