    Question Please help on DOWNGRADING!
    Hi all,

I've jailbroke my 3G iPhone using YellowSnow, on firmware 2.2.1. Is there any possible or safe way to flash it back to normal 2.2.1 version (without jailbreaking and yellowsnow)? I need to send it back to service centre since there're cracks on the backcase but they said they won't fix/change it for me if the iPhone was jailbroken.

    Thanks for helping!

Put the phone in DFU mode and flash with a stock f/w.

Thanks all for the reply. If I restore it in iTunes, will the baseband be upgraded to the most recent one then I can't do the unlock in the future?

    Yes.

You would have to restore it to 2.2 in itunes to avoid the baseband update. Otherwise, only Pwnage (which means jailbroken) would be your only choice.

Do I need to put it in DFU mode if using this method? Thanks for the help.

Yes, if you are on Windows, you would need to put it into DFU and then hold shift and click Restore in iTunes so that you can select the firmware that you want to put onto the phone, which in this case would be 2.2, since you don't want the baseband to go up.
If I helped you, then hit the "Thanks!" button please.
