Default Iphone 2.1 in Emergency Call Mode
    Hi All,

I've had my iphone 2G jailbroken for quite sometime without any problems.

Today my iphone is displaying the Itunes USB screen (DFU Mode I believe) although my phone is still accepting calls and I can also make calls even though my phones that only Emergency calls are allowed.

I'm also able to see my calendar appointments and my text messages as they come in.

If I connect my iphone to ITunes I get a message saying "There is a problem with your iPhone".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try holding down the power and home button simultaneously until the iPhone reboots. You may have to do this a couple of times.

I have tried this many times through out the day with no luck.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Id try putting the iPhone in full DFU mode (black screen) and restoring as a new iphone. I had a similar issue back when I was on firmware 2.0.2.

I'd recommend restoring to a newer firmware like 2.2 or 2.2.1.

For some reason my iTunes crashes a lot in Vista. It happened so I killed the task in the task manager. When I reloaded iTunes, it wouldn't connect to the iTunes store and was hence stuck in emergency mode. I rebooted both the iPhone and the PC and when I connected the phone it worked fine
