Thread: Can I Jailbreak or not?

Default Can I Jailbreak or not?
I had recently jailbroke my 3G IPhone with Quickpwn. It seemed to run much slower than I thought that it should, so I loaded the recent update from ITunes so it would unjailbreak. Can I now jailbreak the new update? If I can, what files do I need other than the newest Quickpwn.I already have this. I am not interested in unlocking, only jailbreaking.

    Thank in advance

Yep, you can jailbreak and the latest Quickpwn is all you need...

As for it running slower, that tends to happen, but you can reduce it by not having a ton of theme stuff running via Winterboard and what not.

    Thanx for the quick answer
Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this? Bricking my phone is the last thing I want to do.
My baseband is 02.30.03 if it matters

Put it into Dfu mode&restore to itunes, then use quickpwn. But your baseband would be still 2.30.03...

Firstly open iTunes then click edit, then preferences, devices and look if you see that you have a back up from an earlier date.
If so,then select restore from back up,once prompted select the backup date that you have chosen.I hope, that should now restore all your contacts to back...

I have found everything except for "restore from backup". When I go to restore on the main screen, it tells me it is going to restore back to original. I didn't go any further than that. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanx,

After you jailbroke the phone did you set the phone up as a new phone? If so then you can sync your contacts, music back to your phone, but you will have to setup any email acct's manually.

    Hello everyone,
I have a question about unlocking my iphone 3G. I have the iphone running on the 2.2.1 firmware with the 02.30.03 baseband. Can I unlock my iphone? I have read that I can run a pwned version of 2.2.1 and I have tried this but get multiple error messages that pop up. I have tried every way I can think of at attempting to unlock my phone (put it in DFU mode etc). I have downloaded quickpwn 2.2.5 for windows. I also have the pwned 2.2.1 that I downloaded. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.
