    Default Custom 2.2.1 Firmware Problems
I am currently running the 2.2 firmware and I want to do the custom 2.2.1 update but am having some issues. I have downloaded two separate basebandless 2.2.1 .ipsw's and cannot figure out how to upgrade. I tried to use the shift+restore in iTunes (I am currently using 8.0.2.20 on Windows XP) and repeatedly get an error 1403. I have tried the restore in DFU mode and outside it. I have read some stuff about using iLiberty but have never messed with that program, so needless to say I am clueless with the jargon. Any help to get me going in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Hi all,

Is there anywhere i can get hold of a custom firmware 2.2.1? The Pwnage tool wont even open on Win XP for me to mod the modem baseband.

    Thanks,

    Darren

Search within the site. A few people have posted links to the custom 2.2.1 firmware.

    Download quickpwn!
    1. Open and start quickpwn.

    2. Open up task manager find quickpwn process

    3. Connect Iphone to computer

    4. Follow on screen steps!

    5. When you get to the step where it says Hold down power and home! Pay attention to your iphone. When the screen goes white, stop the quickpwn process in task manger! Your phone should now have a white screen!

    6. Disconnect usb from computer.

    7. Start itunes

    8. Plug iphone to computer, wait....until itunes says its in dfu mode. Hit Shift and restore, find your cfw and install let me know if that helps.
