    Default third times a charm!
I have posted on here twice asking for help to jailbreak my newly bought 1.1.3 16gig iphone and did not recieve any feedback. I am having a hard time finding out what bootloader I have? Noone has helped me or replied to my questions. I am completely new to the iphone hack world and need some guidance if possible. I do not want to unlock the phone, I just want to jailbreak so I can install third party apps. Is Ziphone the best option? Does the bootloader version even matter if I use Ziphone? Is there anyone else that has 16gig 1.1.3 OTB and got Ziphone to jailbreak correctly that can guide me. Please reply!

ok well ziphone is your best bet u can get the windows gui off this site then i will guide you through it

    just follow this

    1. download the rar package, extract it to your c drive.

    2. go into command prompt [just go to run, type in cmd]

    3. type in cd C [dont forget the slash or it'll take you to the usersr/username]

    4. now your screen should look like this "C>"

    5. type in 'cd ziphone' [without quotes, as usual]

    6. type in "ziphone" with the letter of action you want to preform [ '-j for jailbreak, -u for unlock ...you get the idea]

    7. DONT PRESS ENTER YET>>> PUT A -v at the end of the line, so it should look like this if you're jailbeaking for example.

    ex.

    Cziphone>ziphone -j -v

    8. watch the magic happen. enjoy

I have ziphone downloaded and ready. I also am scared that I will have non functioning iphone if i do this, is there a possibility that the phone will die completely? Like i said I am happy with at&t and just need to jailbreak it, am I going to have tons of problems afterwards?

Do I need to worry about what bootloader I have at all? so in the command prompt do I have to call the dir Ziphone once then type in ziphone -j , and what is the -v for?

what is the -V for and what does that do? so I have to hold the home and power button too right, when do i connect the iphone to the computer and when do i need to unconnect it?

    Dont worry!!

The most that can happen is that you are going to have to restore back to 1.1.3 and all your data is going to be gone. And if that happens all you have to do is sync back with itunes and wala your back to were you started.

If your not so good with the command p then use ziphone gui for windows and it will be alot more user friendly. If you are already activated using your iphone just click on the jailbreak option and press start.

Sit back 4 min tops and watch the magic happen. You will have your phone back with 2 new icons installer and z web shortcut.

    Done

I just purchased a 113 16gb otb and activated & jailbroke using ziphone 2.3 gui. All I did was he following.

    1. Open up ziphone gui

    2. (with iphone off) Hold the home button and connect it to the computer (((keep holding the home button dont let go until you see the restore icon on the phone))) once thats there let go.

    3. click on jailbreak and click start.

    4. once you are done your phone should be back up with installer on it. Click on installer and install bds subsystem. You can find it under system. After that you can install any 1.1.3 friendly apps you want. Customize and summerboard are working great.

    5. And yes everything still works fine includeing youtube

    Hope This Helps

I tried that and it seemed like nothing happened so i hit restore and ill start over again. Im using the GUI ziphone should anything show up on the right side to show its working. Also do i just hit jailbreak and debug or just jailbreak? also when you hit start to jailbreak does the ziphone software disappear? the first time i tried it the ziphone gui disappeared what am i doing wrong?

You can only restore you phone twice in its lifetime.

    Just kidding!!!!

Look once your phone is back up from the restore do the exact same thing you were doing. If you want you can even leave itunes open in the back round.

About ziphone the only thing i clicked on was jailbreak and activation but you dont have to use activation because you are already using your phone with att. just click on jailbreak.

Come on you can do it
