Thread: I just got my iPhone 3G/running 2.0.2!

Default I just got my iPhone 3G/running 2.0.2!
I'm with AT&T and only want to jailbreak it so I can install unoffical 3rd party apps (cydia, etc). What program do I use to do this (I'm really confused about all the information on the net). Will the program that I use to jailbreak the phone install "cydia" or do I have to get that from some place else?

Also, if you jailbreak an iPhone, do I have to worry about upgrading the OS/firmware when Apple releases a new update? Or can I just update it without any worries? I ask this because since the phone is not SIM unlocked, it's still bound to AT&T since I'm only jailbreaking it, so I would assume doing an upgrade when a new version from Apple is released is not an issue? But I could be wrong...

    Please advise.

    Thanks

Easiest method is to use Quickpwn (Mac and OSX versions available). This will jailbreak the phone and add Cydia and Installer to your springboard. If you update to a new firmware in iTunes you will lose your jailbreak status and all custom apps installed.
