Default dfu mode does not work
hi! i have a 2g phone with 2.0.1 installed that will not go into dfu mode no matter what method i try. i have invested several hours, just like the rest of you, just in getting it into dfu to no avail. it just goes into recovery mode, as though there is no dfu mode available. ive tried all different timings of the buttons, starting on starting off, using ziphone's dfu mode button, which only kicks it into recovery and none of the methods ive found work . is anyone else having this problem? anyone have any suggestions? ive searched all over and cant find anyone else with this problem.

    Conect phone to itunes.

    Turn phone off.

Hold down the home button and the power button at the same time.

After 10 seconds release the power button but keep the home button pressed in.

Wait for around 20-30 seconds with home button still pressed.

Itunes should make a beep noise and reconise phone in DFU, youll notice that the phone still looks like it is turned of with a completey black screen.

You can now take your finger of the home button.

It is so much easier to put in DFU mode when conected to itunes.

    Hope this helps

Another method is to use Pwnage tool and once the firmware is built, follow the steps in Pwnage tool to put it in DFU mode.
