    Default Upgrading to 2.0
    Hello,

I was just wondering what are the pre-requisites for upgrading to 2.0. In my case, I have an iPhone first gen purchased in the States but I am currently in France on the Orange network (the official carrier for the iPhone).

I am not on an official iphone plan here but I was wondering if it was still possible to upgrade to 2.0 without bricking it... so that's why I was wondering itunes determines whether your iphone is valid or not for an upgrade...

    Thank you,
    PL

Not possible yet because they haven't released the 2.0 jailbreak software yet

Ok but I was thinking more along the lines of an official 2.0 update?!

Well the jailbreak has nothing to do with it if you do not have a legit iphone plan. 2.0 has not been UNLOCKED yet, which needs to occur before you upgrade to it. If you have a legit iphone plan, meaning you current phone is not unlocked then you can absolutely upgrade with no problems.
