    Default Preparing 2G - 1.1.4 for FW 2.0 upgrade
    Hello!

I have an iPhone 2G 1.1.4 which I unlocked and jailbreaked with ZiPhone. Then I used Bootneuter to restore the Bootloader back to 4.6 and switched on "Neuter" and "Unlock". And now the sixty-four-dollar question:

What should I do before upgrading to 2.0 with the announced PWNAGE 2.0?

    A

    1. Setting Bootneuter to: 4.6, Neuter Off, Unlock Off
    2. Restoring in iTunes to 1.1.4
    3. Upgrade to FW 2.0 with PWNAGE 2.0

    B

    1. Restoring in iTunes to 1.1.4
    2. Upgrade to FW 2.0 with PWNAGE 2.0

    C

    1. Setting Bootneuter to: 4.6, Neuter Off, Unlock Off
    2. Upgrade to FW 2.0 with PWNAGE 2.0

    D

    • Upgrade to FW 2.0 with PWNAGE 2.0 without restoring 1.1.4

    Best wishes, Birke

I'm assuming you want to go back to a 4.6 bl. If that is the case then choose option c. If you want to stay at 3.9 bl, then choose option d.

    Makes sense I hope...

    You are guessing right.

I am on 4.6 and donīt know if it is better to go back to a virginized, "clean" iPhone, before I will upgrade to the new 2.0 FW. You mean, I should do nothing and upgrade as it is?

That is correct, no need to restore to any firmware lower than 2.0. Once you update to 2.0, (after the DevTeam release of course) its gonna be fresh and so clean, clean...

Why or what do you assume?

What happens with the software installed with the installer.app from 1.1.4? I read that they will not work on FW 2.0. Some upgraded their offical 2G to FW 2.0 and the settings from "Make it mine" are still the same as before. That was the main reason asking you if it probably would be better to restore back to a clean 1.1.4 version.

    Sorry about my worse english.

I would not want to speculate, especially on the internet. Like I tell everyone no matter what mods you do on your iPhone to do the research. I would wait for the newest JB / Unlock / Activate program for 2.0 to stabalize itself before doing it. Again, that is just my .02 cents.

I believe installer is not yet configured for 2.0. Cydia is the one that has been successfully integrated. As far as apps are concerned, the current ones are also not configured to work. However, until a program(s) is released, it is still up in the air.

After you restore, iTunes will prompt you to restore from a backup. Choose for a new phone and it will be fresh and clean. Restore from your last backup, some residuals from your old firmware will linger. Mine did the same thing, KB auto-correction was still off and the Make it Mine custom carrier name were retained. The apps were gone so I could not change, restore, or revert them to the factory settings. Restoring to 1.1.4 is not needed if you will upgrade to 2.0 anyways.
