Thread: Cant get to recovery mode!

Default Cant get to recovery mode!
Im trying to downgrade my iphone to 1.1.1 and jailbreak but cant seem to get the thing into recovery mode.

Ive looked at a bunch of forums and they all say to hold the sleep/wake and home buttons, then release the sleep/wake button when the screen goes blank while continuing to hold the home button.

When I do this the phone just turns off and im left holding the home button like a doofas... no "connect to itunes" nothing. What am I doing wrong here?

    Please help!!

Hey I had the same problem and then i discoverd that to get to recovery mode just connect to itunes normally with ur phone inn the usb and then press the home button and the sleep/wake button and hold them BOTH for about 20-30 seconds, even AFTER the screen goes blank! Now just wait n ur itunes will find ur phone in recovery mode

I had the EXACT same problem. All the guides I read said to release the power button after the screen goes blank, so I did it RIGHT after the screen went blank. It dosen't work that way...When the screen goes blank, you have to keep holding the power button for a good 5 seconds then you release it and keep holding the home button untill iTunes recognizes your iPhone in recovery mode.

Lol, it was driving me KRAZY.

i think this is the easiest way:
    1) turn your phone off.
    2) hold the home button while inserting it into it's dock then keep holding that button.
the phone will go in recovery mode
