    Default Newbie Question 1.1.2
Hi, I have a 1.0.2 unlocked Iphone on Tmobile network with tmobile sim.
I read somewhere you can upgrade to 1.1.2 with a new turbosim or a few other sim cards.

    1. Does this mean if I buy one of those cards and insert it in place of my tmobile sim, I can upgrade to 1.1.2 with no issues and then insert my tmobile card in afterwards?

I guess i am just confused on how it all works even after reading a few things, can anyone help? Thanks

I believe the TurboSim works with your current SIM card. I think you have to alter (cut out) a bit on your SIM card and attach the TurboSim to it and insert into the phone.

Basically, if I understand correctly, the TurboSim "tricks" your phone into thinking your T-Mobile SIM is an activated ATT SIM.

As far as updates to firmware with TurboSim, I am not sure if it is resistant or not.

    Look here for information:

You can upgrade to 1.1.2 with no issues without Turbosim.

Check the wiki or and follow the guides for upgrading

Do you happen to have the exact link to that, I have seen so many links, but some work, some don't, be nice if there was a thread with stepbystep and links to each program etc that has been verified, thank you by the way

Have you looked at the guides to the left?

Pretty much if you are on 1.0.2, you need to virginize upgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, oktoprep upgrade jailbreak, then unlock (in airplane mode)
