Default Need your help guys! I have 1.0.2
This is all very confusing for me and I'm sure others too.
I have 1.0.2 with apps, games and such and diffrent icons on it. I still use ATT as the network. Thats all I have.
I have not updated yet to 1.1.1 b/c I dont know which step to take, there are so many.
Can't I just update with itunes or what do I have to do to do it the right way? I really dont care if I am or am not able to add apps to the new version(1.1.1)
    thanks.

If you never unlocked your phone in anyway then you can simply upgrade to 1.1.1 via iTunes.

But if it is already unlocked using iunlock or Anysim then you have to reverginize your phone to 1.0.2 and then upgrade to 1.1.1 . After upgrading to 1.1.1 you can activate, jailbreak and unlock with anysim1.1

in itunes you click restore and it should promt you to restore and update to 1.1.1 and thats it ...if it says 1.0.2 is current version ..you need to update itunes first!!

i believe all i have done was jailbreak it. unlocking means being able to use with another carrier, right? which i use att.
how do i find out if mine is unlocked?

If you use at&t sim card than you are NOT unlocked. Jailbreak is just adding installer and apps.

    1) sync your phone
    2) restore
    3) upgrade to 1.1.1
    4) go to jailbreakme.com
    5) install installer
    6) have fun

    If this helped,please thank me

Is restoring required before upgrading to 1.1.1?

Required no but you may need to go in and uninstall all apps and then reinstall them. Restoring first will give you a cleaner install
