Default How best to upgrade to 1.1.1 if you unlock 1.0.2 with Anysim 1.1
I've been doing a lot of reading and tried to find answers on my own but am a little confused.

I had a (out of the box) 1.0.2 phone that I activated without AT&T sim (using Independence v1.2.4) and unlocked using AnySim 1.1 method.

But now I have a good reason for wanting to upgrade to 1.1.1 because of International Keyboard feature.

    So my question is
    a) can I upgrade to 1.1.1 ?

    b) what method can I use [and what to skip (if any) since I used Anysim 1.1 to unlock] ?

There seems to be adequate guides for downgrading but not for upgrading.

    Please advise.

    Thankyou in advance.

PS: I don't need to virginize the baseband, right ? since I never upgraded to 1.1.1 before.

I think you need to revirginize your phone since you unlocked it. I could be wrong though

Don't quote (or trust me) but isn't AnySIM1.1 a 'safe' version? Isn't it the previous version that does naughty things to the baseband?

    Anyone know for sure?

Guy´s I´ve tryed to unlock many iPhones, and had the chance to test some things with one of them. In fact, I`malmost sure that if you had unlocked your 1.0.2 iphone with Anysim 1.1, you can "update" to 1.1.1 using this simple method:

    1- download iNdependence 1.2.4
2- Run it and go to the firmware menu
3- Run Pre 1.1.1 routine and follow the instructions.
4- Open iTunes as the instructions says, prepare it as a new iphone or keeping the last configuration.
    5- Quit itunes
    6- Press continue on iNdependence
7- Do what it says, open itunes and "UPDATE" the iphone. NOT RESTORE!!!!
8- When it´s done, quit itunes and open iNdependece
9- Activate - Jailbrake it - install SSH and all stuff
10- SSH it and copy anysim 1.1 to aplications folder of iphone
    11- Run it and Voila!!!!

I just did mine too. Used the guide here

Virginize and all. Even though I use Anysim 1.1 to unlock before (not Anysim 1.0 or other method).

Had FW differences message but I kept going and it worked.

viginizing log here, if anyone interested.
