tekwiz i did the same as you, rebooting didn't work for me either. and in the instructions i read the "-w" was missing from the line below :S

in putty you have to type:

    /bin/launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

    ok got it all fixed,

First I tried Erica's unlock, after this the iphone came up with the message that calls could not be made in or out and directed me to apple.com/support.

I got it into restore mode, restored using 1.0.2 then jailbroke using wiNstaller which also bonus activated it for me, after that I got the carrier logo, full bars, sound etc...

Using the guide from the file. Look at the pics I believe you need to type ls then type cd /. then type ls again

I also received the error of "no such process"; I decided to continue with the procedure; and it completed without any more errors. When I finished, I had to restore the iPhone using iTunes (update to firmware 1.1.1 directly), and then I use Independence 1.2.4 to jailbreak. Finally I could unlock it using Anysim 1.1; and the iPhone is now updated and working.

    can anyone offer any assisstance?

Putty/Terminal crashes once connected via SSH after typing in more than 2 characters or executing. Trying to launch [b]/.[/] then execute
    "launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist "
    commands :S
