Default How to upgrade from 1.0.2 (1C28) to latest version?
I have been anxious about upgrading my Iphone from 1.0.2 (1C28) to the latest version (Not sure what version) but, since I bricked my phone in the past and it took me 4 days to fix it I have been wary about doing so.

What is the latest technique for upgrading?

Yes, my phone is hacked still and I have the latest Installer installed on my phone. I can see the downgrade baseband stuff in the Community Sections. Just not sure what to do exactly.

    Any help appreciated!

You should do a fresh restore to 1.1.4 through itunes.

You then have a couple options after you are upgraded to 1.1.4as far as jailbreaking/activation/unlocking goes. There are several programs you can safely do this with. I used ziphone, but there are other programs like iliberty, iplus, and the newest and cooloest "pwnage tool".

As long as you don't use AT&T I would recommend using the pwn tool to free your phone. It offers many more options, and is the safest jailbreak/activate/unlock method to date.

Well... yes I am with AT&T. I have also tried to upgrade before through Itunes. That's how I locked my phone the first time.

So you are saying I'm stuck with this version?
