Default Speed up iP4 safari and internet in general
    Hi all,

I was just wondering if there was a way of speeding up the 3G on my iP4 I have safariDNS from cydia, but I want to make my Internet a lot faster because my mates Desire on the same network (t-mobile UK) was beat my iP4 today :-/

Do you think ultrasn0w affects the speed and performance ?

    Thanks
    James

Probably a general speed tweak on the entire phone will speed everything up. Have you tried removing the language packs (assuming your phone is jb). Read up on it, learn how to run the code, and your phone will see a significant increased speed.

If that's too complicated, perhaps try another browser?

yeah I'm jailbroke mate (I'm not a complete amateur lol) ... Is there an app for removing the language packs? I've done that syspartion but it still seems a bit laggy and my internet isn't lightning

    Thanks for your reply

There's a couple different ways to do this. Both involve either running a code in SSH or mobileterminal.

There's actually a thread on here that covers this topic. I'll have to try to find it some time.

yes, i did mean that, sry for the shorthand post

i dont know if i can help, as you have probably done everything ok

but i will just mention some things i do daily when connecting in, as i say you probably done these anyway

IF you havent already changed the default password then...

    username: root
    password: alpine

host name, need the correct ip address of iphone
    port: 22
    SCP as protocol
    WIFI on on IP4
firewall on computer set to allow SSH software to connect
SSH on iphone turned on, not accidentally off via a toggle or alike.

struggling to think of anything else, strange one, hope you get there in the end though!!

    regards
