Question [URGENT] Turn off Data/Edge in iPhone 3GS
    Hi,

I got my data plan activated (250mb/mo) and I just found out that Turning Off Data Roaming and 3G doesnt really stop the phone from sending and receiving bytes over the cellular network.

Is there any way I can Turn Off the Edge service ?

    Thanks

    Ok.

Turning off data roaming and 3G aren't supposed to completely disable cellular data. They're supposed to turn off data roaming and the 3G radio.

If you want to completely disable cellular data you need to jailbreak and install a tool such as SBSettings with mDataToggle.

i installed SBSettings..do i need to install mDataToggle too?

Yes SB Settings. Data toggle is already built in. Or 4.0 has disable data toggle in the network section

Fake APN, Data Toggle, and mDataToggle do basicly the same thing and all will work. mDataToggle claims to be the best (claims ). All change a network setting so the iPhone doesn't try to access the internet, or tries with an incorrect setting rendering data transfer impossible.
