    Will this remove the packs for all apps? What about future installed apps? Will I have to rerun the program to remove the packs for future apps?

    It will remove Lang packs for all ur current apps.

    Any apps installed later requires you to rerun it....it doesn't automatically run itself when a new app is installed.

    I typically only rerun it when a major update comes out for an OS or Cydia. From my experience, apps usually don't place a large amount of Lang packs on the phone so I don't worry about them.

    Lemme know if ur interested...

    There's a tool/scrip available in Cydia (Google's your friend to find the repo) called FreeMyiphone, which has been built to free up some space on RAM memory and speed up both iPhone 2G and 3G.
    What does it do?

    - Deletes unnecessary deamons
    - Deletes unnecessary Carriers
    - Links some system folders

    After installing it, just go to MobileTerminal and type:

    su root (then enter your password)
    cd/var/mobile
    chmod 775 fmi.sh
    ./fmi.sh

    After that, you'll be asked several times if you want to delete something or not.
    I found it there, used it and think it's nice. Maybe you should give it a try.

    Have any idea which daemons it deletes? Same ones as posted earlier?

    Not sure, but most likely.

    rather then running that command can you not simply delete the relevant plist from LaunchDaemons folder? then reboot the phone?

    Help... I did this mod on My iphone 4, all went well, but after reboot i have no wifi - its grayed out! Tried restarting That daemon that mentions wifi by running load -w... Didnt work, terminal spewed some error about socket. Any ideas what to do next?

    OK, was able to run load -w to try and get all daemons back up (forgot to SU first time around). Everything started back upp, but wifi was still gone. Had to do full restore. So, be warned! This mod basically bricks iphone 4.

    As I've mentioned in my post, this mod has been built for iPhones 2G and 3G. So it's risky to run this command in any other device different from those ones.
    Please hit the Thanks button if you think this was helpful or if it maybe raised a smile!

    com.apple.wifiFirmwareLoader.plist
    For all whos wifi is grayed restore this plist. I got too wifi grayed, copied this plist and worked.
    Is there any others tweaks for ios4?

    I ended up having to do a full restore. The sad thing is that I replaced that plist with iDisk and immediately noticed that wifi was still greyed out. I failed to reboot the phone though, if I would have done that it may have fixed everything. Oh well.

    launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.wifiFirmwareLoader.plist(this is new, the soon to be use OTA for iphone)

    and follow with

    * com.apple.ReportCrash.DirectoryService.plist
    * com.apple.ReportCrash.Jetsam.plist
    * com.apple.ReportCrash.SafetyNet.plist
    * com.apple.ReportCrash.SimulateCrash.plist

    * com.apple.CrashHousekeeping.plist
    * com.apple.DumpBasebandCrash.plist
    * com.apple.DumpPanic.plist

    this completely disable this daemons!!!!

    Now lets, deactivate locationd from startup but let it startpup on request

    cd /System/Library/LaunchDaemons

    plutil -convert xml1 com.apple.locationd.plist
    vim com.apple.locationd.plist
    ------------------

    search for RunAtLoad

    change true ----> false

    ----------------
    plutil -convert binary1 com.apple.locationd.plist
    reboot

    after this changes In my experience, multitasking is finally usable, no more lagging and finally I have my 3.x battery time.

    Do this under your own risk.
    Can somebody please tell me where to do this?
    I deleted some Safe launch daemons using WINSCP via SSHing into device but i can't figure out how to disable these services. Please help... My device is crawling right now.

    Okay, my interest is sparked. What makes doing all these steps better than using DisableDaemons from xsellize? Um not trying to be rude cuz I like to learn new stuff but using Terminal takes SOOO long so what is the real advantage to all of that. Just curious....

  17. #37
    Only thing is that disabledaemons from xsellize doesn't delete few ios4 plist and you have to delete yoursekf. Only difference

    I see!
    So is it safe to say that someone could install DisableDaemons and then cut the ios4 Daemons that are not included and then place them into the DisableDaemons Backup folder? If that is the case, then which daemons are new to ios4 that can be removed? Thanx for your help and insight!

    I found another way to increase RAM. I'm not a fan of Spotlight so if you're like me, you can disable it with 'NoSpot.' It looks like I got 10MB of RAM on my ip4 (345MB to 356MB)! I'm gonna post this on the other 'speed' forums as well....

    Hmm, seems as though com.apple.wifiFirmwareLoader.plist is how apple is going to force updates into your iPhone to try and combat jailbreaking. If i were you, I would remove this before it's too late
