Thread: Unknown app consuming all free memory.

Exclamation Unknown app consuming all free memory.
This started about 2 days ago, for no apparent reason. I noticed that my applications were refusing to save new data of any kind so i checked my available memory. sure enough i had nothing left on /var. i assumed i had just been saving too much stuff to third party apps and deleted more than a couple GB worth of videos. not a day later all the free memory i had created was gone, nothing i did since then would use more than a couple MB let alone 2+ GB. so i plugged my iphone in to itunes. and it now shows that i have 12 GB of memory being used by apps. anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

tl;dr all my memory on /var is dissapearing, being used by app(s)

You will need to learn how to use SSH or iphonebrowser or diskaid. Connect to your iPhone's file system and go to /private/var/mobile/library/RYP/logs and delete all the files in here. After that hard reset your phone by holding power+home until the phone reboots. Finally open Rock and install the update.
