Default Lost password 4 iPhone backup
    Hi guys

I have lost my password using the iPhone encrypt backup in iTunes and was wondering if anyone can help me to get rid of it.

If i upgrade to the latest 3.1.2 will this get rid of the password?

Do i have to restore? If i do how does this affect my jailbroken phone.

    Any help is appreciated

Remove all device backups in iTunes Preferences, uncheck the option "Encrypt Iphone Backup" in iTunes and click Sync, the new backup is not encrypted.

I tried this several times, and it works:
    - use Diskaid to access the iPhone and delete the file keychain-2.db from var/Keychains, disconnect the iPhone.
    - reboot the iPhone so a blank new keychain-2.db is created.
    - go to Preferences of iTunes, under Devices delete all backups.
    - connect the iPhone, iTunes still shows "Encrypt iPhone Backup" checked but don't trust the mark, click sync so iTunes starts a new backup and at the end of the backup the check mark will disappear. The new backup is not encrypted because the encryption is done by the iPhone with the password stored in the keychain before it sends to iTunes.

this also remove the Lock Passcode.

After upgrade or restore the keychain-2.db is blank, no password, no passcode. But the check mark "Encrypt iPhone Backup" only gone after a backup from the phone having blank keychain if you don't know the old password to set it off. Itunes changes the state of that check mark at the end of the backup/sync.
