Default Developers are just spinning wheels?
I honestly am amazed at the genius of the developers for our iPhone community. They are truly brilliant, and I appreciate them to the fullest. They are way ahead of me on the understanding of this platform.

Which is why I have to ask: why keep wasting time developing stupid games and other retarded useless tweaks? Develop some useful stuff! Office software, encryption software, or here's a good one: an easy to use tethering setup program that is reliable and usable!

I know I can't come close to even holding their jock strap, but still can you folks develop some useful things instead of just worthless toys?

True, wise word. And IM application? A good one? and a lot of other ones.
BUT, don't forget that they don't have the SDK so developers don't have full potential of the platform which means they cant use it to the fullest, they dont know all the codes and abilities... just wait, it will come :]

Yeah the developers are great but I am fairly certain we see useless apps because many of them (by no means all) do not have the skill required to create such apps.

The official SDK is exactly the same with more documentation and tools for development... Perhaps apps distributed will be crippled but that's because of Apple not the SDK... Apple did a pretty good job with it.
