    Unhappy Please help
ok im new here, but ive got some experience undermy belt but not much. i have an iphone 3gs and jailbroke with blackra1n 3 days ago. today i was on facebook on my phone and my phone went crazy. it shut off and now when it tries to turn on, the apple symbol gets black strips through it and it shuts off after about 8-10 seconds of starting. ive tried to restore, with DFU, and all i get is a 1611 error. i know its bricked but if its able to be fixed please help!! if nothing can be done.. just tell me.

ok ill try that. but a guy told me just to restore over and over till it works. ive done that and it went from just getting an error to the circular loading thing at the bottom of the screen.. is that good?

Thats is a little closer, but is it just stuck with the re-sping going around and a around?

no it will have the usb and the apple symbol then the rotating thing under it for a few seconds, then the screen will go black, switch to the apple symbol by itself for a few seconds then switch back to the usb and apple symbol then i get the 1611 error again. ive tried atleast 15 times.

ok now this time it will have the apple symbol and then the little loading bar that is always there to show the status of the restore. then itll cut off and ill get a 1611 restore error and itll go back to apple symbol and usb.

no it was not, my computer has problems changing .zip files to .ipsw files so i was unable to jailbreak. that wont hold me back from being able to restore will it?

oh and where is a good place that i could download the 3.1 firmware?

No it should just download it with ipsw not zip. If it stil has the zip on the end just delete the zip extention.
