Default Problem with 2G.. help please
Hey guys. Just bought a 2G iPhone off ebay.. been charging it the whole day.. it turns on, gets to the Apple logo and shuts off on its own, even though it is still being charged. Or.. is plugged into wall charger. Nothing wrong with outlet, works perfectly fine charging everything else I use.

I tried jailbreaking it and it got through but once again, at the Apple logo, shut down.

What's wrong with it? Does it need more charging? Or is it bricked?

Also, when plugging into computer, iTunes does not detect the iPhone. Will try restoring and see if that works.. but I doubt it will. Until I repost with results, does anyone know of a working solution? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Didn't work. Can't even get into Restore Mode because it won't turn on the iPhone when plugging in the cable.

While it could be a flex cable, it is most likely the comm board. When people get them wet they sell them on ebay after they clean them up and white out the sensors. It's just an old con artist game. You can se the flex cable link in my sig and if it scares you see the hardware link for more help. It might be a flex cable, but if not it's the comm board. You have no way to know except to swap the flex then see what happens.

I understood some, haha, I've repaired phones before.. just not an iPhone. I don't have any spare flex cables lying around.. so one1, what would you charge for a fix like this?

Yeah, I did, lol. Your flex cable link says you can do it if paying for cable and tip but that doesnt give me a concrete pricetag >_> and yet your hardware issue link tells me that you can guide me to where I can buy these parts.. neither of which let me know an estimated price on a fix

You buy the cable, I'll take a tip for doing it. I have better odds of it coming out alive, you have nearly no odds. This operation makes ME cringe and I've been doing Micro SMD work for a decade and a half.
=x but yeah.. back on topic.. if i were to buy one of the flex cables on eBay, what would I search for, to find the "good quality" ones?
