The only ways - LogoMe and add boot logo to custom firmware. Will LogoMe ever be updated?

There is a way but it involves SHH ing, All you need to do is download the theme you want and the boot logo you want and get both onto your computer desktop. Then drag the boot logo into the theme folder and open up the theme folder and create a new folder inside that folder and drag the boot logo inside it. Now you need to SSH it into your iphone. i'm going to presume you know how to do this but if you dont, its really easy, just comment and ille make a youtube video and give you the link. LogoMe right now has sort of shut down. I think it only really worked on the 2.0 and they are so busy they have simply forgotten about it. I would be hesitant about the method above as it has caused some problems for me and most certainly will for anyone SSH ing for the first time.
    Hope this helped.

It seems to me that most difficult part would be finding the appropriate .png to replace. However, I frequent this site because everyone seems to know more than I do, so I'd take their word for it. Good luck and keep us posted if you find the solution

Yeah, i feel the same way sometimes. i think the boot logo is in the actual apple software so that is practically un-editable unless you find a way to modify the software to what you want. i'm going to look into it, my current boot logo is a pineapple and i am running 3.1.2 so it is possible. Over the course of this fortnight i'm going to downgrade to 2.2.1 and use Logome and just keep an eye out for what it changes and why it might not be compatible with the 3.0 and above. If i find out ille update Logome or programme another version and post it on cydia but ille let you know first. You never know, it might just be a case of creating a boot logo theme folder, or going into 'boot' when SSHing and dragging the boot logo in.

right ok, i have found two methods to change the boot logo. The first is simply to add the boot logo into the theme folder and call it boot.png Winterboard then automatically replaces the .png that needs replacing. The second method involves unjailbreaking. once you have done this, you need to re-jailbreak with the PWNage tool. Before creating the custom .ispw you need to click 'advanced, boot logo' and replace the pineapple with the boot logo you have chosen. both of these methods i have tested and work hope this helped.

Add the boot logo into the themes folder and call it Boot.png or boot.png didn't work for me on a 3gs with 5.12 boot rom.

I NOR Flashed custom boot and recovery with RedSn0w 0.9.2 on windows

    but heres something interesting...

inside system>library>coreservices>springboard.app> there is an apple logo called... applelogo.png

probably not it, but I dont see this logo anywhere else on springboard, so may be worth a try, but I will not attemp it right now.

    Has anyone tried that already?

I have also tried the winterboard method previously, no dice.

    THanks guys.

That was not successful. I tried and the logo did not change

You can only see the change if the boot logo shrinks on SpringBoard. But, that was in the previous firmwares.
