Default How to find the owner?
    Hi all
Someone posted that he found an iphone on the street and looking for the owner. the phone is locked right now so the owner can't be contacted. i was wondering if there is anyway to get pass the password or just get a number out of the contacts. I really want to help to find the owner.

    thanks

Call AT&T and give them the IMEI number. They should be able to find out what account it is currently linked to.
If I helped you, then hit the "Thanks!" button please.

that's what i was thinking, but dealing with ATT customer service is not really an ideal situation. Also, i dont know if they can even tell you about the account info if you are not the account holder.

    thanks for the +1 btw.

Too bad it's not T-mobile huh?
Other than that there really is no way to find the owner.
You can take it to the Polic dep. and see if anybody claims it but that usually is a no-go

Trust me, they can find the owner. DO the right thing and see that it gets back to the owner.

YES. And thank you for being honest.
Most people would have taken the phone and ran.

Idk what I'd do if I lost my baby.
My life is on that thing.

I don't think you can sync with passcode on.
Just call AT&T, it'll be worth it to know you're doing the right thing

if the owner really wants his/her phone back, i'm sure the owner would have called by now, so just wait for a phone call

Ditto. I swore that even with a passcode protected phone, if you sync up it would read out the number.

If you plugged in the phone it will give you the number in iTunes, then call AT&T and say you found this phone with this number. They may take your info and have the customer call you. Pretty simple.

If it is on a family plan (which a lot of phones are nowadays) then they can get a hold of someone else's phone within the family, or maybe a house phone?
