Default iphone draining quickly and wont shut off.
I have had my 2g iphone for about a week and I have jailbroken it, its on at&t. I have been adding applications and finally got it the way I like it and now out of no where the battery is draining very quickly like all the battery life in a half day with the screen locked. I tried to turn it off to reserve the battery and now it wont power off, I have SBSettings and tried to power it off through there and by holding top button, and I have tap instead of slide to power off and it turns off, but then immediately powers back on with the apple on the screen. Please help, any ideas what could be causing this?

My guess is that you've installed something that is conflicting with your phone in some way. Start uninstalling the applications that you've recently installed, one by one; meaning uninstall the last one you installed; reboot and if the problem persists, then uninstall another and repeat the process. If none of the uninstalls stop the problem, then your going to need to restore through iTunes and see if the problem exists without the jailbreak. If the problem still continues, then you'd better hope that you're phone is still under warranty. If the problem does not exist with the stock firmware restored; then try jailbreaking again.

    Hope this helps!

It was fine until some about 10 recent application installs, after jailbreaking and few apps I was amazed at how long it lasted, so I think you may be right about that.

I have 3.0 OS are there any known top free appstore apps that would be causing this?

No AppStore apps whether free or paid are causing this. It will be a Cydia installed application.

I would agree, but also disagree. I know that likelyhood of the appstore application would be unlikely, but the truth is, anything is possible. I'm glad you did chime in though, because I just "assumed" he was referring to the cydia apps. So my advice should have been to start uninstalling the Cydia apps first.

Thanks Reeko for pointing that out!

    Ok I figured it out.

Problem 1) iphone would not shut off, cydia's A Better Tap To Unlock was causing it.

Problem 2) When I downloaded some games they had notifications turned on and I am not using a data plan, so it kept trying to access internet, so turned off notifications and problem fixed.

    Thanks Again
