Thread: Free Internet For T-Mobile

  1. #21
Could it be possible to use this to tether to a laptop?

  2. #22
    I'm wondering about
    a) the legality of this and
    b) if it's wise going through someone else's APN that could harvest any information they want.

    Call me 'security concious' but.....

epc.tmobile.com is a legit tmobile APN.

however, I'm a little nervous that the proxy or server, tmobilepro.blogdns.com could see passwords that I'm using to log into websites with.

You're right about the APN, of course, I didn't read it properly.
It's what it's going through that's the (potential) problem.

i'm just avoiding logging into websites. the OP seems like a legit and obviously nice guy for hooking us up. but better safe then sorry.

its back up, looks like he added some google ads, I would too, hosting is probably costing him some $$.

Is this true? How did you do this?

And to the above poster, YES it does work! I know it seems crazy, I couldn't believe it either. Just note that with some sites it's a bit buggy, like you won't be able to login on some sites.

Speaking of that, has anyone else figured out a way to use facebook with this internet method? I can't login.

Well it's working, and while I haven't received my bill, I'd be quite surprised if there were extra charges on it. While it's somewhat restricted, it definitely beats paying twenty dollars or more a month for internet.

Thanks again to original poster, I use this all the time.

I would like to know also if it really doesn't charge, anyone receive there bill yet?

If you are connecting through a T-mobile APN and using data then, if you were in Europe, you would be charged. Maybe they have completely different charging methods in the USA. Maybe putting passwords in through a site you don't know is a risk you are willing to take.
Normally, if something seems to good to be true, it is.
But maybe I am wrong in this case.
Just glad I don't have to use it.

EDIT: Tried searching a few different sites, and it works! I can't even believe this though! I'm at home and I turned wifi off, but I'm amazed that I could've been browsing the web for free!

Does this only work in safari or can you somehow use internet capable apps?
I had this problem, google doesn't work and neither does facebook. Yahoo works great though.

    what?

  16. #36
Actually, I've heard about the sidekick plan. It is not free internet, instead you pay $1 a day for unlimited web usage and it even charges you when use don't use data. I personally don't recommend it, but if you want more security/privacy, then you can go with it. Think about paying $365 a year compared to $0.
