Your phone isn't using location services or wifi while in standby mode so this doesn't affect battery life. Push was rumored to use 20-30% more battery power when on.

You are wrong. When a device fetches emails every 15 minutes, it uses wifi and 3G every 15 minutes.

i thought the battery life was not quite what it should be.....however after a few 100%-5% rundowns and recharges the battery cycle is getting much better each time. Just make sure to fully charge the battery and let it run down without getting to a complete shutdown. This will create a cycle for the battery, running it down to were the phone shuts off is actually hard on a new battery....The key here is to create a cycle...

since my last full charge im at 37% with
    3:38 usage
    22:58 standby
This is with all services on push, wifi, 3g, location, BT

I went from 2g to 3gs and although its a bit better, I dont see much of a difference. I still have to charge it by 6pm or so if i've been on it heavily

i came in here to make a thread almost identical to this one!

i ran my battery all the way down to where the phone cut off last night and then fully charged it. the first time i had done that since i got the phone the 19th.

im currently @ 3% battery left. usage: 6hrs 25 mins, standby: 20rhs 37mins. push is on and email fetches every 15 minutes.

That is extremely good battery life! So you are saying I should fully discharge?

i have always heard running a brand new battery down to nothing and then recharging it fully will help its life. one of my friends did the same thing and he said it improved his 3gs battery life as well.

totally agree, i do that with everything that i own that requires a battery charge (laptop,RC airplane, iphone 3g,ipod) and i must say that i get decent usage/standby time with all of these gadgets..

My standby battery life is actually really good.
I do have 3G, Wifi, and Location Services off though.

If the sun was made of baby back rips..... would you eat it?

I am at 36% with 2:44 usage and 12 hours of standby. I have all that you have on except wifi. I also fetch every 15 minutes. Is my usage for the life normal?
