Default How To Test if iPhone has Been Jailbroken/Unlocked in the past?
so i am going to get a iphone that is said to still be under AppleCare now i know that apple has some type of thing were they can see if the software has been tempered with.

how check that? once im there in person with them? can i just use a laptop?

  2. #2
You cant really. And Apple wont check that deep either so I wouldnt worry about it.

if you need to need it fixed the first thing they do is restore it anyways and restoring will kill all traces of jailbreak

well i have read around and some people say apple can still find out if it was or not

now is there suppose to be an exchange of information in order to transfer the AppleCare?

  5. #5
^Actually, not all But yeah, Apple aint gonna look. Honestly, I've brought them jailbroken phones and without any funny icons on the screen they never notice.

PS- Applecare should be registered to the serial # on the phone, so you dont have to do anything.

You need to run quickpwn to jailbreak it and unlock it if it is a 1st generation iphone. Go here to download the latest quickpwn.

I have the 3rd generation but when i when to the tmobile dealer they told me they either will give me a turbo sim card or they will do something else to the firmware and they said this method wouldnt be like how it was before they said "it wont be unlocked but the feature will still be usable" any suggestion?

What firmware are you running? Did you just do a restore? You can always run unlocked with a turbsim but if you want to software unlock it then you will have to install yellowsnow from cydia. Problem is yellowsnow does not work on the baseband that gets installed during an upgrade to 2.2.1. There are ways to downgrade your baseband to allow yellowsnow but only if you are running bootloader 5.8. Complicated I know. First what is your current firmware?

Go to Settings>General>About and tell me your modem firmware and version. You will have to run quickpwn to jailbreak and activate your phone to get past the emergency screen

right now its telling me to plug the usb into the computer, once i do that itunes come up saying i need a proper sim card. i can only make emergency phone calls from the phone and there isnt any interface. Im pretty stuck and lost and i have no idea what firmware it was running.
When i first got the phone it was aldready unlocked by tmobile for some stupid reason i decided to erase and restore it! is there any type of quick and simple way of fixing the phone to the original setting?
