Default Available memory, QG,Categories, Sbsettings what do you use?
So Im trying to figure out what is the best system to use to clean up your apps from your screens, but maximises the available memory?

I have been reading and googling and to be honest what im missing is what people run and how much available memory they get in sbsettings.

I did use categories and sbsettings, but uninstalled categories and installed quickgold instead,

So what i have running is
Winterboard ( no video , changing background etc)
    Sbsettings
    Quickgold

And sbsettings is reading HDD Free 139mb on/12180mb on/var
Available memory: 34 mb ( varies to 38mb usually after respring before opening Quick Gold then will fall to 34mb.

So what do you use and what readings do you get?
    What is the best set-up?

The best setup memory wise....would be leave it stock.

Otherwise, its up to what you want.

    I use:

Winterboard w/ 3 running HTML scripts.
    SBsettings
    Catagories
    Notifier

And average around 30mb free with no issues at all.

quick gold is going to kill your memory

just use categories. i wish appflow was still around to use but its not

now its down to 29 and ive not done anything grrrrr

Have you tried rebooting before checking free memory.
This will give you a clean slate to see approximately how much quickgold was taking up.

you have to reboot to uninstall quickgold

There could also be other factors (like other programs) running that your not aware of knocking down the memory. Also, it seems that quickpwning your phone leaves it running slightly slower than loading a custom FW...on most occasions.

Use can use the SBsettings to check the actual running processes on the phone.

I did reboot anyway after that I installed categories set it up and now I have a constant 40-42 available memory so I think this is what I will stick with, thanks for your advice him121213,

I found that I could consistently pick up about 10MB by using MemTool to "Clean" then toggling 3G off then on again. Yes sounds weird but I use more memory when 3G is off. and Edge is on. I also found that I need to toggle 3G to pick up the extra free memory that MemTool created. I went from my max free memory being around 38-40 mb to aboout 45-50 MB by doing this. Oh and install Wigglefree. I picked up a few free MB by installing that.

    Mobilesubstrate apps installed:
    Winterboard
    Five Icon Dock
    Five Column Springboard
    Five Row Springboard
    Categories
    SBSettings
    MobileFinder
    Chronus
