Default Free 3G on Kindle 2? How?
Not an "iphone" question per se, but a 3G question. Amazon has this "Kindle 2" reading device that has 3G, they claim, for free. How do they do that when I have to pay ATT like 35 dollars for mine!?

I'm not 100% sure of the details... but basically they have a deal with Sprint. As far as I know, every Kindle 2 will work out-of-the-box on Sprints 3G network in the US. You can surf for books on Amazon for free, and presumably when you buy a book, Sprint gets a small chunk of the revenue... or Maybe Amazon just pays them a monthly fee... who knows. Either way, to answer your question: They have a deal with Sprint.

Ahh, Sprint. Thanks, that's where my confusion was. That makes sense, for a minimal amount of bandwidth usage, they probably get fees on the device sale and book sales.

Thank You, sorry for being off-topic
