What firmware are you on ?

if its 1.1.4 there is a fix you can run in a vt100 session. I had to do the same to mine, but I had to to do a general reset of all settings on my Iphone first.

if you need I can fine the command.

    glj

Yeah I'm on 1.1.4. If you can tell me what the command is that would be great. Do you just enter in the command in vt100?

    hi

I seem to be getting this issue too. But when I go into terminal it just asks for a password. Anyone know what this?

    Thanks

    I think the command is

    chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile

    Got it from hackintosh

I had the same problem a few times. You just need to delete the actual mail folder from. I think its in the mobile/library. Then when you open up mail, it works fine.

Its happened everytime I upgrade firmwares.

As jonatron said you use the chown command in vt100 on your iphone. remember root and alpine are the magic words. Make sure that the BSD is installed. This cured my mail problem and I did not have to do anything else to get it to work.
