Default Another battery problem? What's your opinions, guys?
    Hey.

I bought a 1.0.2 iPhone brand new from Florida in October. Thanks to the community I've been loving my phone, had all kinds of firmwares on there, all kinds of apps..

About 2 weeks back I put 1.1.3 on there - everything was fine.

Then last Thursday my battery just started draining really fast. I'd not installed any other software or done anything.. Weird.

Thinking (hoping?) it could be a firmware/software problem, I downgraded to 1.0.2 and revirginized. Let the battery completely drain, then gave it a full overnight charge..

Still the battery lasts just shy of 14 hours..

    So.. Suggestions?

Is this just the battery, or something else?

    Thanks.

Yeah. In one of my 'test runs' I have a completely virgin phone. There were no email accounts. So it's not that. Thanks for the suggestion though..

    Anyone else any ideas?

I'm also finding that under 1.1.3 my battery is draining much faster than before. Haven't found a cause yet.

I'm back to 1.0.2 now, and it hasn't improved matters.

What programs have you used to jailbreak, etc?

I updated with iTunes and jailbroke with ZiPhone. I've noticed there are more background apps running under the user mobile as well as root. That may be a contributing cause.

Well, on back 1.0.2, it's just the standard set of stuff running in the background.. I did use ZiPhone to unlock it though. I might try the old iBrickr method instead.

I've timed it to 14 hours 30 minutes on standby. It seems to last that long every time now - no matter how long I leave it on charge for..

I'm going try 1.1.3 again, and see how that impacts battery life.

Also another thing to try is to charge it fully, then switch the phone OFF (with the red slider), and see how much charge is left after 12 hours or so..

Anything else for me to try?

Ok. So I fully charged my phone, then switched it off (with the red slider).

It's been off for around 10 hours, just turned it on again now and the battery is down to around 1/3 charge. So it's draining at nearly the same rate

    The question now is:

Is it the battery that is the problem, or is there something wrong with the actual phone hardware. Has anyone actually had their battery replaced yet? What were your symptoms if you have?

    Thanks!

When I upgraded to 1.1.3 I found my battery draining very quickly. I worked out if you close your mail prog fully (mo mailboxes open) then my battery if fine.

    (update)

I am getting 48 hours out of my battery easily and using the phone for 1 hour a day too.

have you upgraded your firmware to 1.1.4?

i noticed a significant amount of improvement battery has lasted 2days with about 20% to spare. also signal reception has greatly improved most peoples iphones.
