Default How do you stop "backing up" during sync!?!
This is ridiculous!! I've been sitting here simply trying to add more songs to my iphone & it's been over a half hour just "backing up" I checked online & it says to uncheck the "dont send to apple" and never ask again but that doesn't work. It STILL backs up!

Sorry but this is annoying as hell just trying to add songs to my library. Anyone have any other tips?

you can stop the back up process by clicking the little x on the right in the window where it says backing up. then click summary and check the manually manage music and videos and click apply. now you can just drag and drop what you want to you iphone.

Can also do a terminal command if on OS X just type:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

    To Enable it, simply enter.
defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool false
