Thread: chmod - killed. Why?

  1. #1
    Default chmod - killed. Why?
I can't seem to chmod any files in mobile terminal (or putty).

I'm logged in as root and even if I create a file when I try to chmod it all I get in response is "killed".

    Any ideas?

Was chmod working before you installed this deamon for pcsuite? Because I have also installed the deamon for it on my phone and since I can't find any other reason for it to stop working or a cause wheras there seems to be a similarity here, maybe removing that demon might help.

    Default Solution
    Ok, got the solution.

PC Suite replaces chmod binary with an older obscolete version that isnt allowed to run.

replace the chmod binary in /bin/ with the one i have attached and it will solve the problem.

    Enjoy.

Ahh-haaa!!! Very nice. Only thing you forgot to mention is to change the permissions to 755. like the old chmod file.

install a handy iphone app called iCommander or use Filezilla.

I tried using WinSCP but that tries to use the chmod on the device to change permissions so it doesnt work. But Filezilla portable worked for me.
