Default Best .AVI to iPhone video Converter
Whats the best and easiest converter for .avi video files to iPhone .mp4 format?

I have tried a couple and they either do not ever get the aspect ratio right or the audio is out of sync or something else that was wrong.

Anybody here know a good video converter for the iPhone?

    Thanks

For Macs, I'd highly recommend Visual Hub. It even has an iPhone preset.
PLEASE click everyone's "Thanks" buttons...they are begging for it.

How big is the file your converting and what format is it?

I'm converting a 1.4GB .avi file and its taking 30 mins, guess my Q6600 quad @ 3.4GHz per core isn't fast enough

(edit) Probably because I'm converting with the highest quality setting lol.

I just converted 3 videos and two videos wouldn't play and the last one's aspect ratios were again off like every other converter..

Is there a converter that will keep whatever ratio the original video was instead of forcing 480x320? I don't care if its 480x200 or something as long as the ratio remains the same..

i use a free software called Super by eRightSoft. it has various built-in converter settings for different mobile formats and also lets u choose video and audio conversions factors. u can select the video size outcome and force aspect ratios.
u can get it from this link.

    SUPER .

Wm converter. Ive always used it and never had any problems, and its really easy to use. And the best thing is you can do custom settings so u can convert to your needs.

and if you dont want to fill up your devices storage with a bunch of video files, you could use Air Video - which streams video avi files and transcodes them "on the fly" when you watch them - i do this with my iPad and it works a treat.

but you said Iphone - so if u are within your home wifi network you could use Air Video - but if you want to watch the video's (say) on the commute to work and back then i would go with Handbrake - its free.
