Hmmm. I wonder if 1.1.3 is able to fix a phone with the White Screen of Death. I've sent my dead iphone to a friend in the US to try and get a replacement in an Apple store after I couldn't work out a way of getting any support from Australia (so much for the 1 year internation warranty) but maybe this would be able to fix it?

Anyone have any ideas? I had assumed that there was no fix for the WSOD (I docked the phone, the screen went mad, then it got really hot so I tried to restore which ended up with a white screen that I couldn't do anything with) as all attempts to restore with any of the available firmwares failed.

Maybe this could be my answer? I don't really want the phone to be swapped coz then I'll get an OOB 1.1.2 or even worse, a 1.1.3....

I think it depends on the status of your bricked phone. if you are able to get it into restore mode, my understanding is that it will be able to "un-brick" your phone with 1.1.3 firmware. If there is physical hardware damage done due to the bricking, obviously there is no chance.

Well I can definately get it into restore mode, I just can't see anything on the screen. iTunes picks it up as needing a restore anyway.
